SGBA and Farnborough Aerospace Consortia (FAC) link up to bring an Export workshop to the SME sector.

17/10/2011 By

Riches on the other side of the fence?

Practical steps for your Export Plans

1200hrs – 1700hrs;

Tuesday 15th November, 2011,

The Park Centre, BAE Systems, Farnborough

As the Government and business leaders continue to ‘bang the drum’ regarding Exports leading the economic recovery, this networking workshop explores the critical issues relating to Exporting. A stimulus to establishing the key issues when exporting, this interactive half day is aimed at uncovering all the main practical considerations.

Suitable for those companies who see Export as the next challenge, and also those who wish to increase the volume of current exports.

This FAC Export Network event is also designed to give you an opportunity to highlight your own company’s capabilities and share your experiences of selling in the global marketplace.

The event commences with a networking lunch to give you the best chance to get to know your fellow delegates and explore commercial possibilities with them before hearing from our guest speaker, Ian Thomas.

Ian Thomas, a key member of Southern Group Business Advisors, has over 35 years sales and marketing experience in ‘engineered problem solving sales’. With a wealth of experience in doing business in the UK, Europe and India, Ian brings considerable knowledge of man management and working through third parties and direct sales. Key achievements include growing a £16m business to £25m over two years. For the last 12 years Ian has helped the small business sector with tailored and dynamic sales strategies.

A flavour of Ian’s irreverent and entertaining approach can be gained from a recent article in the business press:

“In a time when a salesman is measured by his ability to operate a CRM system, not his ability to influence and ‘bring home the bacon’ we can easily lose sight of the real issue. So a spirit of entrepreneurship must be installed into business top to bottom, left to right.

Exports? Not for us, we’ve never travelled beyond Rickmansworth! …Let’s brush up on our selling skills, not our dexterity on a database.”
